Little point mentioning NOVA as your import Agent will deal with all that, you simply turn up, pay the balance and sort the paperwork.

It needs to be done by somebody, within 14 days of the vehicle arriving.
Perhaps I am not up to speed why would you need a CoC with a vehicle from Japan?

    "or IVA"
If it's under 10 years you will be renting a model report and doing an IVA.

Either/or, depending on if somebody's put that exact spec through the bigger test for a model report.
Some people sell Jap Imports without the speedo converted, so obviously some MOT stations don't look that carefully.

And nor should they, seeing as it isn't part of the MOT at all. C&U requires dual-marked speedo, but MOT doesn't.

It is done by your Agent before the car is removed from the dock. At least every time I have imported a car from Japan!

What did they do when you imported your cars from Japan?

Why would a CoC even be mentioned when we are talking about a Japanese market vehicle?

Since when did I mention a dual marked speedo? You use a gearbox adapted for cable and a little MPH sticker to cover up KPH. Or a little "box of tricks" if they are electronic.

And if the vehicle you bring in hasn't had a Model Report then you will have to do one yourself, no Model Report, no IVA. Unless it is ten years or older.

Model Reports aren't cheap which is why people rent them out.

That's nice, dear. But you need to make sure it's done - and, if it hasn't been, do it.

    C&U requires dual-marked. MPH-only is as illegal as KPH-only.
    MOT doesn't care either way.
