O/S Daily Sunday 6 March 2016
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Happy Birthday to those with a birthday x
Happy Mothers Day x
DH and myself up enjoying first peaceful cuppas of the day.
Now light, clear sky and sunshine - but it's cold and we've had a frost. Looks like it's going to stay cold for the start of the week, possibility of some white stuff too - really hope not but we'll see. It won't last long as the temperature at the end of the week is rising back up to wet and mild, or so the forecast says at the moment!
Dinner last night was a cheeky takeaway - ordered something different to what we normally have, was cheaper and plates weren't piled high - it was lovely and just enough. I still feel it's expensive though, but I now have food in the fridge that was going to be eaten so I'll use that food either tomorrow or Tuesday night for dinner and just switch the other meals around. Lunch today is going to be roast chicken, stuffing, roasties, mash, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, peas, yorkshires and gravy. I'll be getting lunch prepped and cooking, then I'll get pack ups organised so I can have some chill time this afternoon.
Yesterday we went to town, visited the building society, I picked up a couple of gift bags from the pound shop and then we went straight to visit the parents and take the Mothers Day gifts so both mum's had their prezzies ready for today. Did some washing. At lunchtime we had chicken and salad wraps, curly fries, tortilla chips and dip - really went down well, and a good lunchtime meal.
Have peaceful Sundays' everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Another bad night, goes without saying now doesn't it, hey ho.
I would have had a lie in but the dogs needed a wee and a cuddle.
Hubby & I have a cuppa and the fish will be fed in a sec.
My two sons are visiting today, I'm cooking roast dinner, they offered to take me out but it's always chaos on Mothers day so I offered to cook.
Oldest DS has just given his notice in at work, he has an new job, the selection process started before Christmas.
Hugs to Judi, it's a horrible time I know.
Elona I hope you get back online soon.
Floss, hugs.
Time I logged off, I have a 9and a half stone staffy trying to sit on my knee and there isn't room for him and the laptop.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone.
Thanks for the thread nmlc.
It seems very calm outside today again, not used to this sort of weather. Yesterday I got out in the sunshine, did a little shopping and went for a walk too. I did a small load of washing, a pile of dark clothes. Then I caught up with three NCIS programmes which I had recorded on Friday.
Now I've got to clean up the small front hall as the flooring is being laid tomorrow morning, at last! It'll be interesting as the CCTV is also being installed in the back garden at the same time, they'll have to go through the gate, into the barn and out to the track to bring their stuff in. Hopefully the floorers won't be too long.
I'm going to burn a load of paperwork in the front field today. Mums been clearing out her cupboards and given me about four years of bank statements, gas bills and electric bills to get rid of. There's too much for her shredder.
Breakfast is going to be yogurt and blueberries and there's a yummy pork chop for later, haven't had one for ages so I'm really looking forward to it.
As a family we don't 'observe' Mothering Sunday so have avoided being sucked into the increasing frenzy. It was my birthday at the end of Feb, my Mum's on Wednesday coming and OH's Mum has passed. I'll ring my Mum for a short chat only as she can't really hear enough for it. We email each other fairly often each day usually.
Happy Mothering Sunday to everyone.0 -
Morning Everyone
The sun is up and it's looking good for another lovely day. The washing was all dry yesterday so I ironed the bedding and put it back on, the smell was amazing! Got a load in to put out, DW emptied and jellies made for the coming week.
Took DD her other bike yesterday, we'll see how long till this one gets stolen too although it's not quite as good and fashionable as the one that was taken.
Spent the day painting her hallway - 8 doors to go round so took ages. I'll try to finish it today. Going to meet her in town for breakfast - don't like going for Mother's Day lunch as it seems to cost twice as much as usual. She is also cooking me dinner which will be lovely.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX0 -

Morning all,
Bright but very frosty this morning.
DD1 is coming for lunch, so it will be DGD1, Himself DD1 and myself. We are having beef, roasted veg, green beans and peas and DGD will have some new potatoes with her. DD is doing the 8 week blood sugar diet as well and seems to be doing well. I just have to make the meals more interesting to make up for the lack of roasties and yorkies.
We are having new stair carpet fitted tomorrow so part of yesterday was spent taking up the old carpet and bagging it up ready to dispose of.
I have had lots of flowers already, from DGD1 and Himself so I am a very lucky girl, I won't be seeing DD2 because she hasn't spoken to us for 2 years, but I can't do anything about that. We look after and care for her elder daughter(our beautiful granddaughter).
To all Mums and those of us who no longer have Mum with us, my thoughts are with you, especially Judi and Csarina.
Have a lovely day

Morning everyone,
Cold and frosty here, just been out with the girls and filled up the bed feeders / table, they all sat in the apple tree waiting for the breakfast buffet to start.
Did get out on Bill yesterday as the sleet stopped but he was naughty. We went out with my friend and her chestnut mare but had hardly got out of the gates when she starting backing up and just wouldn't go forward. Got Bill going and she followed for a few steps and then started reversing again, so Billy thought being naughty looks like fun so spun round and starting bucking, all the time getting closer to the bank of the dyke . In the end my friend had to get off for a while and lead her horse, Billy was on high alert all the way round so hardly the nice relaxing hack we wanted. Still, least he's feeling well enough to test his Mum :rotfl:
After all the excitement had a nice relaxing evening, DOH picked Mum up and we had a Chinese which all enjoyed, must confess always fill up on the crispy duck and then have no room for anymore so leftovers in the fridge.
This afternoon my brother and his family are coming over so will be nice for Mum to see them, DOH and I will play nice and not rise to any of the barbed comments. Hey ho, families.
Have a good day everyone, hope all Mum's are suitably spoilt and hugs to those who find today difficult xx0 -
Morning all. Mother's Day is all well and good for those without family sadness in their lives. CSARINA, CANDLELIGHT and JUDI my thoughts are with you both today. ((HUGS)) to others too when today brings back sad memories.
As for me, DD is working this weekend but calling in on her way to work with "something" for me and DS texted last night to check I was in this morning as he wants to call up too with Roxy dog. After that the day is ours so I have a chicken defrosting for lunch and will do that with all the trimmings!
We currently have snowflakes falling but snow isn't forecast for us so hopefully it's an idle threat!! We still have pockets of snow around where the sun hasn't reached. I am so sick of winter now. Our caravan site opened on the 1st March but we are not giving any thought to setting up until it gets a bit warmer!
Have a good day if you can ((HUGS)) where wanted/needed and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Thinking especially of Deleted_User and Judi this morning xxI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Morning all
Happy Mothers day to all of us. I shall be visiting my own Mother later. Hoping to avoid my brother and his girlfriend. I might bribe hubby into coming with me...one look from him will send them scuttling off.
On a lighter note.. Hester you would be proud...I went to bed in my bra last night as usual and I've woken up without it. Can't find it anywhere. Hubby says it's got nothing to do with him and I certainly don't feel like I've been taken 'advantage' of in my sleep but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe as well as having nightmares I've turned into a secret stripper as well.
Got a list of jobs as long as a giants arm...I'd best get out of bed.
Onwards and forwards
