Sky broadband 14 day cancellation help

I have my broadband with sky and phone line with BT I want to combine both with either Plusnet or BT I spoke to sky to see if they could do me a deal but they were useless. Sky told me I would need to give them 14 day notice to cancel my broadband if I moved to a new provider is this correct as I don't want to cancel and then be left without broadband until my new supplier connects.

Speak to your prosepctive new provider they will do the change over for you.
