EE Text Charges to School

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to the forum.
I'm with EE and they have been charging me 21p everytime I text our school back. I could be sending a message to ask how much dinner money is, or to let them know my child is off sick. But I have unltd free texts. And this is just an 07797 mobile number I'm texting.
I have queried it with EE and they say it's a premium service! But it's just a mobile number! On this occasion though they will refund me £16.94 for the last year that I have dug out! They suggested I don't text the school back as there's nothing else they can do, and cannot do any other refunds on this matter!
I've queried it with school as other parents are being charged by EE but not by other providers (Vodaphone for example), they don't understand why we're being charged as it shouldn't be a premium number and it's the school that get charged for using this service. It's on teachers2parents.
There are around 400 pupils just in our school, and we're in a town in the countryside, I dread to think how much this equates to throughout the country!
Has anyone else encountered this?
Am I in the wrong? Or are EE being naughty?!
Many thanks

I'm guessing that the number you dial is one of these, which isn't actually a number for the school itself but a number that teachers2parents supply that goes through to the real numberThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. 07797 is a Jersey Telecom number, hence why it is chargeable.
This is something the school need to look into with their provider.0 -
No it's 07797 hun. Regisered to Jersery when I've googled it. Hev0

Yeah thanks Tomtom.
But I don't understand why other providers aren't charging.
And another parent queried it last year with EE, got a refund and haven't been charged since.0 -

Some tariffs will include Channel Island numbers, some will not. You'd need to check your tariff. If you're texting it a lot there may be an add on that includes these numbers.0 -

Well I've had a good rant to them, as I've been with Orange and EE since I've had a phone! Always managed to negotiate a deal with them. I've got the refund now, so shouldn't grumble!
Thank you all very much for taking the time to reply :-) Hev0
