I use a glass and weigh it before hand and then just fill it with tany liquid I need to measure:syrup, honey ,jam........

Tate & Lyle say authoritatively that 1tbsp = 25g syrup. See Tate & Lyle's web site for FAQs (lyles golden syrup dot com ...without spaces)

I use the same method as Trow, a warm spoon helps a great deal

I keep golden syrup in the fridge. If I need to weigh it I spoon it into the scales, noting how many spooms it is. then next time I can just do it by spoonfulls. I find if it is cold I can scrape it off the spoon wiht a knife without much mess. The opposite if what everyone else does I know. But it works for me.
