Useless Smartphone - EE/Carphone Wharehouse/MS

Well I had a Lumia 530 which didn't crash all the time. Never in fact. Same amount of ram as your model.
If yours crashes constantly then there might actually be a fault with it.
Can't they give you a replacement after a couple of attempts at a "repair"?
Anyway the phone is just an incentive to make you buy the airtime. You can very well use your sim in any other EE or unlocked phone so for now just get a new smartphone with better specs and see if you can get your Lumia replaced; then sell it to recover some of the cost for a new smartphone of your choice.0 -

The problem is, it appears the OP has refused their offer at a repair and just wants a different phone.I've been trying to get a replacement phone (a different model completely) for ~6 months now
I say 'appears' because it isn't clear if the OP took them up on the offer or not, but reading between the lines leads me to think they didn't.The only offer I have had was for £25 credit on my bill and for the phone to be sent to the repair center.0 -
As I said, I've had an inferior Lumia model with the same amount of ram and I didn't experience constant crashes. My boyfriend uses one on a regular basis and he's never complained about it. OP's phone sounds faulty.
I am pretty sure after a number of attempts at a repair they would offer a replacement. Not 100% sure though.
I am still suggesting that OP gets the phone replaced eventually or anyway fixed so it can be sold on and they can purchase a phone with better specs that would suit them better in the meantime.
Yes, CPW are the retailer who sold you the phone, OP, not EE. EE are just providing you with the airtime.0 -

It may well be, but the OP isn't helping their case by not letting CPW at least attempt to repair it. Unfortunately, anecdotal evidence from a google search (other search engines are available) about any crashes are not usually sufficient.
If the phone is as bad as the OP makes out, I don't understand why they haven't agreed to a repair after having 6 months of a 'useless smartphone'. It probably would have been resolved by now, and if not, it would only have strengthened the OP's position for a refund/replacement.
Without allowing CPW the chance to fulfil their lawful obligations, I can't see any independant complaint being overly successful.0 -
Yes, we agree. The device needs to go back for a repair.
As I said, asking for a replacement would have to be attempted only after a series of unsuccessful repairs. They wouldn't offer a replacement straight away.0
