+441305****** or 01305 ******?

I have entered phone numbers in my address book as per regional, as in 01305 ******. But some of my friends/family's numbers come through like +441305 with the zero dropped. When that happens, I receive the text but there is no name to identify the sender. Is there an easy way round this please?

Update your contacts list with that number (you can do it from the text).0

+44 is just the international dialling code for the UK so, as suggested above, just amend the numbers in your address book to the same format.
It also means that if you ever phone someone in the UK while abroad you don't have to make any changes to the number you are calling.0 -
Thanks to you both for that and am quite happy to do just that, BUT, if I do, when someone texts me and theirs is not +44 etc but regional/uk, then surely I won't know who it is from, (unless they sign it) . Even if I had a photo id, then that wouldn't show. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

All texts are sent with the international prefix, so you don't need to worry. You'll still get them and your phone will still know who they're from.0

To quote the poet " well sod me"!.
Just used my wife's phone to send a test text and yes, it was a +44 and it didn't give my wife's name. Then almost at the same time, my son sent me a text and his too was +44 but oddly enough, it showed his name even though in the address book/contacts, I have his number as 07840 weird that.
So now I think I will change them all to +44, what do you think. If I do, what happens if one of them phones me, will it come in as unrecognised? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have all my contacts as +44's, makes life easier when I'm abroad to ring any of them.
Again, your phone should recognise the caller id regardless of whether they're 07 or +447.0 -
if you have an android phone
install this app Twitch, it will amend all your contacts to international format for you in seconds

Yes it is android. Just getting used to it, but I did have a samsung galaxy tab 3 some time ago, so am vaguely familiar. I also need to adapt to an iPad and Windows on a laptop. Will use your link am, thanks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You phone normally looks at the last digits to match the caller ID, you'll only have problems where those numbers are the same or saved multiple times.
Also, ensure you remember 44 as a relative saved some mobile numbers as +7 and the failed messages got charged as international text messages to Russia. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
