can I get a new line without a contract?

Hi,
I'm with talktalk at the moment and am moving to a house with only an NTL/Virgin cable. The Virgin packages seem expensive compared to TT so I'd like to use TT again. Is there any way I can get a BT line installed without entering into any contract?, I know that Madasafish only need a months notice but even this would be a pain.

Cheers,

Jon f

As of May this year the minimum term contract for a BT line is 12 months

and that is also if you have moved house and had BT before moving

  • Hi Jonf,

As noted - Madasafish do a monthly contract for our line rental. However if you do not have a working BT line going into your new home and we need to send a BT engineer out to reconnect it than there is a £115 charge for this service.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

  • Hi, first post. I'm with Madasafish for broadband and have absolutely no complaints as long as I don't need customer service! Tempted by their landline deal at line rental £9.99 a month, landline with BT at the moment.
Anybody got any experience of their land line service?

It does not make any sense to switch your line to MAAF as it limits your options, see this post by Heinz here
