frizz_head wrote:Could have done with more sweatshirts - particularly at night, didn't appreciate how cold it would be. We were sitting up til gone 1am every night and getting into bed was freezing. Only took the 9.0 tog duvet - 15.0 would have been better. I was sleeping in Jim jams, fleece, socks and using Mr frizz as hot water bottle - and still was cold. Will take hot water bottles next time. Mr frizz just had boxers on and he said he was fine!
I've had so many nights when we've been sat having a drink and I've worn every item of clothing I could lay my hands on....and still been ffffffrrrreeeezing!!!! Mr JJ is usually warm in just his boxers too
I can't recommend thermal tops and tights enough (really not sexy lol), also a hat can make a HUGE difference as most heat is lost through your head.
So glad you had a good time though, even if you did have to eat everything in one gowhat a great excuse though "if I don't eat it it'll go off"
Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
I used an eight man tent for me the other half and my dog the single skin nylon are very bad for condensation and the lack of a sown in ground sheet did not help
i have just managed to salvage my marriage by getting rid of the offending article and i am going for the correct option you get what you pay for?0 -
yep got to agree........the cheaper option we looked at didnt have a joined in ground sheet and had big gaps all over which with our typical british weather didnt look too appealing to me.
Just realising it isnt just the tent im gonna be forking out for its all the extras...we are looking for good quality airbeds at the momentMake £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
We got the cheapy single airbeds from Superdrug (£4.99) for the girls and in their sleeping bags, they kept sliding off! Gonna take their duvets next time I think!Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

Hey up Frizz!!
How did you go on for insurance for your tent?
We have just had first experimental night at somewhere local and everything with tent was fine..............was just the nearby ravers that spoilt it!!
I like me music but not full blast till 3 am!!
Hoping we just picked wrong campsite?Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
yup! you get what you pay for. I will be looking for a bigger tent, and noticed Halfords have a sale on at moment. (sorry don't know how to make a link to the Halfords website) I hope I am right in thinking that Halfords would stock good quality tents, and getting them in the sale would be a real find.keep smiling,

Got my daughter a tent at half price at Halfords yesterday
Can't comment on the quality as yet , but will be able to after she's used it this weekend

The tent we got from Argos, which by the way is excellent, is now £89.99 in the sale.

Frizz - Can you stand up in it? I have a tunnel tent which sleeps four, but its getting a bit tiresome for the adults to be crawling round on our knees like Toulouse LeTreque. I have decided its time to up-grade to a bigger model. I like your Argos tent, does it have dividers in the bedroom compartment? I also need to be able to fit my foldout picnic table in it for sitting round if we get rained on (hopefully not!).keep smiling,
