Sorry to lower the tone but my recommendation would be to pack flip-flops to leave in the awning of the tent for that all-important early morning 1/2 mile dash to the toilets. These can be slipped on quickly and will not be ruined by the morning dew on the grass. They are also the perfect thing to wear in the showers to avoid the risk of verruccas.
We have a Khyam Tunnel tent (with the Click-System poles) - it is great, you can have it up and be in the pub within half an hour of getting to site!! - lovely after a long drive! The double airbed is another matter - takes about 30 mins to inflate with our feeble footpump so hubby usually ends up blowing it up by mouth himself!!
Please don't let this put you off - it really is excellent fun!!:EasterBun

Jay-Jay you really do make me laugh, but I think we will be taking the snuggly 15 tog duvet for us and get some eskimo type sleeping bags for the kids.

Hooray Hoorah! Camping is so much fun!!! You'll love it (ummm....or hate it)
When are you going Frizzy? Can I come? Actually really considering going in a couple of weeks to prepare for our extreme camping weekend in June....just to see if our sleeping bags and thermals are warm enough. Oh fun fun fun!!!!Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
We've got two weekends in July booked, one for two nights in Hurley and one long one for 4 nights in the New Forest.
Can't wait now.
I think once the tent arrives, we'll do a dummy run in the garden to see how we get on!!Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

Try not to pitch it under any trees, mine always get covered in bird poo when I put them up in the garden. :rolleyes:Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

7 and 4 are just the right age to start in a tent of their own! I used to have my own tent at 4 when my little brother (9 months) went in with mum and dad.
I loved it!
Actually, as your tent will be big enough, you can buy a small single skin 2-man tent and bring it into your living area in the big tent at night-time. This will give the kids their own tent experience but with the safety of being in the big tent with you. My friend does this when she goes camping with the kids.keep smiling,

Well, there's the Guides, who really know about camping - or certainly used to!Don't think my brothers ever really did proper camping with the Scouts.[/QUOTE]
Well, they impressed a total novice like me. I was in the Guides when I was young, but my troop never went camping. Looks like I missed some fun there!keep smiling,

Talking of foot-pumps. Can anyone recommend a good one? I will need a new one for my air-beds this year. I bought a cheapy from Llidl last year and it broke within a few goes.
Any thoughts?keep smiling,
