Retention comparable prices for new sign ups ?

Hi
Is it worth ever asking for a deal as a new customer ? Most companies seem to be able to offer great deals to retain customers, can they offer similar deals to new customers to tempt them to switch ?
Would be nice to know if this is even possible before I try it
thanks !

IMO, typically new customers can get better offers, especially via third parties and with TCB/Quidco taken into account.
