Hi everyone
Just bought my first dishwasher so I'm a complete Noob, I thought once it was connected up, you just put a tab in the slot and ores go! 😂
But someone said I have to put salt? and set the water pressure?
It's a Hotpoint FDFL 11010 Futura
Any laughs or help would be most welcome 👍🎉

I use mine to store dirty pots in until I hand wash them , mind you, you may wish to take that with a pinch of salt:beer:4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0

How do you use a dish washer?
I keep telling mine she's beautiful and treat her to an evening out occasionally.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -
Assuming this is a genuine question ....
Most dishwasher tablets/capsules have all the required components (detergent, salt etc.) ... i.e. they are All-in-one ... so there's no need to add salt.
As regards water pressure... as long as you have a decent pressure at your kitchen tap, and the water feed to the dishwasher isn't blocked, then you shouldn't have any problems.
Just load the dishwasher, put in the tablet in the container (usually on the door - it has a spring-loaded cover), close the door, select your wash programme then press start. (This assumes you've plugged in the mains electricity and switched it on).0 -
It also depends on how posh your dish washer is and the type of water where you live. I have very hard water here, so lots of lime scale in the kettle etc. My dish washer has settings where you can let it know what sort of water you have. Depending on which setting, even if you buy all in one you might need a bit of salt.
If you don't use salt it won't break anything, but your glasses might come out a bit dull basically. So read the manual to see if you have a way of setting the dishwasher to match your water type or not. If not then just try all in one tablets, if the stuff comes out clean but not as shiny as you expect then try some salt and see if that helps.MFW OP's 2017 #101 £829.32/£5000

Is it true that your supposed to pre rinse dishes before putting them in the dish washer? this seems pointless. I have never had a dishwasher as i live in a small household and can easily hand wash the crocs long before the time it would take to load/unload a machine.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Yes. It's a dishwasher not a food disposal unit.
They don't need to go in clean. Quick rinse to get the worst off.Hello There. :beer:0 -

There's no point and it's wasting more water than just hand washing alone.
All you've got to do is scrape off any remaining food into the bin and put the dishes in the machine. There's no need to rinse the dishes.
Do you rinse the dishes under running cold water? Or running hot water? Do you fill a sink with hot water with some dish soap and wipe the food off using a sponge?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
