Worcester Bosch V Grants oil boiler

We have a 23 year old worchester boiler that is needing replaced and we've had a few quotes, some for Worcester Bosch and one for a Grants boiler.
There isn't much difference in price but Grants isn't a company I've heard off but the local fitters (who cone recommended) claim it's the best out there. Does anyone have any feedback in these 2 makes, or be prepared to recommend one or the other?

I suggest you get hold of a copy of the WHICH survey that reports on no less than 370 boilers. You can get a copy on-line for £1. Both manufacturers come out very well in the survey.0

For what it's worth, I was new to oil boilers when I moved to my present house, which came with a Grant. The heating engineer I use says they are the best of the ones he looks after.
I hope I'm not tempting providence when I say that it has worked faultlessly for the past eight or nine years.
That's not a lot to go on, I realise, but at least it's a reaction from a dispassionate user.0 -
We have an oil boiler and are looking to replace it later this year. Our heating engineer only recommends Grant as have several others. I did some research about Worcester Bosch, knowing they score highly in the Which report, but have seen some stories about substandard fitting.
There will always be engineers who can fit and service Grant and we know there should be far less issue getting parts. Our current boiler is a cheap Grandee (fitted in 2007 and inherited with the house) but is a nightmare to get parts for.Mortgage free wannabeMortgage (November 2010) £135,850Mortgage (November 2020) £4,7840 -
We have just had a Grant boiler installed.
Our heating guy has been fitting them for 30 years and covering the guarantee periods. He wasn't willing to consider any other brand, although that could just be laziness!0 -
Thanks everyone, we've decided to go with the grants which seems to have less bells and whistles and us a wee bit more expensive but all the reviews I've read says it's the best. Only a few days until we have hot water again!0
