BTW - do get some decent-quality honey if you can find it anyway
I get honey from the local farmers market; there's a very nice German gentleman, who's a beekeeper not far from here who has his stall there - it's not cheap, but since I've been having it, my hay fever has reduced by about 90%. :o

I totally agree; I have lupus, and one of the problems with this is that the bone-crushing fatigue can hit me like a sledgehammer with absolutely no warning, and if this happens, DH has to do our dins.
His speciality is what he calls "omelette with everything" - basically it contains: diced onion, extra-extra mature Cheddar, frozen peas, diced-up tomatoes, chopped-up Qu0rn bacon-style slices and mixed herbs; all fried up in butter.

I home Kevin and Gem-gem are starting to feel better and get some strength back by now.:o

    Yes thank you.
I have returned back to work today. Only a lingering cough. It was a nasty one - laid me out for nearly two weeks.

Comfort food? Rice pudding. Custard. Ice cream. Sometimes with thick fruit cake, sometimes with chopped nuts.
You have caught me during a vulnerable time, as I enjoy my evening coffee. There is an unopened thick slab of Christmas Genoa cake just staring down at me from its perch on a bookcase....it's as if it's daring me to eat it :o

Ambrosia creamed rice, with extra cream on top to load on the calories after an illness. Hot or cold.

Full fat Greek yogurt with fruit or jam mixed in. Addictive.

    Cheese on soda bread. Addictive.

Thick soup with bread mashed into it.

You can see where this is going....not much cooking involved lol.

Sorry to be a bit of a downer, but I know the above worked for my darling sis when she was ill from Chemo.

    Nooooooo!

It has to be honey then topped with walnuts.

My favourite breakfast when in Greece. :)

I could maybe go with the pistachios but the smell of almonds makes me heave.
    Bakewell tart/pudding? Yuk!
    Marzipan? Pass the sick bag.
And 'candied'? Nooooo! That's even worse than the plain nut. :)

Other than that, I think it's a case of "whatever you want to eat" - I wouldn't worry too much about it being the most healthy food in the world as long as you're eating, so just have whatever you fancy right now. A good diet is vital in the long run, and getting some nutrients into you right now is important, but if you want a KFC, eat a damn KFC.

This was me back in Jan when I was so poorly. I got it into my head that only a mc d's was going to do. For three days I craved it, I don't even like them, but for some reason I knew I had to have one. So we went and I got a cheeseburger and it took me a hour to get through it, but it went down and stayed down :)

And whilst I enjoyed it at the time, the thought of another one any time soon is turning me lol

Has to be a can of tomato soup - and it must be Heinz.

6 cans for £2.50 in Morrisons until 15/3, I'm going to stock up :D
