Further to my Post on the 5th of June,i had a reply from Staywarm, they concur with my calculations, and state that on this system i have overpaid by approx £156.00.
I asked for a refund, but they would not agree.
I have now cancelled Staywarm and will sign up with Ebico.
As i am in credit to them i have cancelled my D/D. I have told them but they said that i will still have to pay the £60.90 per month until the changeover takes place.
So be warned use it or lose it.0 -
About a year ago, I moved to Staywarm, since then we have bought a holiday static caravan and consequently spend a great deal of time in it. I spoke to Staywarm to see if they would lower my monthly payment of £52/£53, and they said "no", you can revert to the old way of paying if you like". So, I am thinking now about doing just that. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi
If you spend a lot of time away from home i.e. in your caravan, £52 is a heck of a lot to be paying. Especially in the summer months, what are you using - your heating switched off or just on very low tick-over for your hot water tank, your fridge/freezer, can't think of anything else you're using while away from home!
We live in a 2-bedroom bungalow. I looked at Staywarm but it worked out more expensive than what we're paying now. We pay £20 a month to GreenEnergy for electricity (cooking, fridge-freezer, washing machine twice a week) and £28 a month to Atlantic for gas (central heating). Total £48 a month which is less than you're paying for Staywarm and as you said, you're not there a lot of the time!

Hi Islandman
You are entitled to give staywarm 28 days notice to end the contract,(see para. 5B of your agreement.
Ensure you sign up with another company at the same time.
Hope this helps.
