3 Mobile - Texts are delayed by hours.
Recently i've started to notice that texts between me and certain people have been really delayed, from 10 minutes to 5 hours at a time. I own an iPhone 6s Plus, but iMessages between me and other people seem fine as its through an internet connection rather than SMS.
I've checked my area's 3 coverage for 3G and 4G and its 'Good Coverage', but its still taking hours to receive any texts? Has anyone had this problem before and solved it?
Im considering changing provider to EE, I've heard their coverage and contracts are pretty good so if this doesnt work out with 3 I'll probably do that.

No network provider guarantees that text messages will be delivered with no delays. There is nothing you can do about it. There is probably some issue somewhere in the network's systems affecting SMS delivery and when that is resolved they will be delivered more quickly as they usually are.
Delayed texts will happen at some point with all providers.0 -

It just seems odd that its sprung up out of nowhere if i'm honest, prior to a few weeks ago it was all good but now its a serious issue.
I understand your point though, no provider can have a perfect service. But its been a few weeks since its started happening, and there is no sign of any improvements. I guess i'll sit tight for a while, if nothings done in the near future then i'll reconsider my options.0 -
As said above text delivery times are not guaranteed but I have found that EE performs well with texts as does O2 (generally) and delivery in the Lincolnshire area is typically a couple of seconds (except New Years Eve!) Also I have found EE coverage to be superior to both Vodafone and O2 as EE has more transmitters in more places than any other network.
And in case I get accused of being an agent for EE it's worth noting that since 1995 I have been a continuous user of O2's network as well as using an EE network sim for the last couple of years in a dual sim phone.0
