Three - shop or online?

Does anyone know if there is any advantage to visiting a Three Mobile shop as opposed to an online transaction for Sim only deals?

I'm considering switching my 4 x EE SIM only to Three and wondered if the shops have any authority to do a 'deal' or if they just quote web site pricing.

Thanks

    Distance Selling Regs?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

As already mentioned cash back through the likes of Quidco is one advantage. Each new 12 month sim only contract can generate between £30-£50 in cash back.

Also as mentioned distance selling regs offer you more consumer protection. For example you have the option to cancel a Three contract within the first 14 days if you purchase it online but not if you purchase it from a Three store. Bear in mind if you use any allowance and then cancel you will be charged out of allowance rates for what was used.

Personally I would always buy online.

If its sim only then consider iD mobile or LIFE mobile - they use 3(iD)/ EE (LIFE) networks but are generally cheaper than their host network and are 30 day rolling contracts.

iD looks interesting - their 12 month sim only deals are more expensive than their 1 month rolling which is strange.

A 12 months SIM only contract is £15 per month with 1Gb/5000/500
A 1 month rolling SIM only is £7 per month with 1Gb/5000/500

    2Gb is £17.50/12 months and £9/1 month

1 month rolling is fine but I wonder why they would discourage someone from signing up for longer - Have i missed something?

IDMobile offers different types of plans called Shockproof, TakeAway and Goto each with different features.

The 12 month sims you mention appear to be TakeAway plans whilst the others are 1 month. The TakeAway plans include international roaming as below whilst the other don't.

"Our TakeAway plans give you the freedom to spread your wings. You can roam for free in the following 29 countries, and keep in touch with family and friends in the UK without racking up huge costs. No shocks, no surprises... no excuses NOT to call home:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and USA.

So when you're in any one of these countries, you'll be able to use your data, and make calls or send texts to UK mobile numbers and landlines.

Calls to foreign numbers (even when you're in the same country) aren't included.

You can read more about our TakeAway plans on this page."
