Thanks jamesd - I have been too scared to invest in UK/USA markets as they're so close to the edge at the mo, or so it seems... Europe would then also follow suit? In any case I do want to invest in UK but so hard to know what the safest option is - is it 'All companies'?MFW #185

Safest pure equities is probably UK equity income. UK equities and bond income adds some bonds to the mix.
Europe has been falling a bit but that's nothing to the plunge the emerging markets would see. Europe and the US will reduce the magnitude of the drop in your whole portfolio.0
