Electoral Roll

How long does it generally take for the electoral roll to show up on credit files? I registered about a month ago, was told the end of the month was generally when files were updated with new registrants.
Do lenders look at say, your Experian file to check if you're on the electoral roll or is there a national register they look at directly?

If you have no other recent credit history then being on the electoral roll can help prove your identity.
If you've updated all your credit agreements to your new address then you will have a credit history and being on the electoral roll doesn't make any difference at all.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Credit reference agencies can take up to 2 months minimum before updating their records.
Lenders will check with whatever CRA they are using to credit check you to see if you are on it, so given that there are 3 agencies, you need to make sure the information is correct and showing across all 3.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards.
