PAYG phone in warranty but Voda won't repair it?
Hi all,
My HTC One M8 (14 months old, 24 month warranty bought PAYG from a Voda shop) is stuck in a boot loop with a red exclamation mark in a red triangle on the screen. The local shop sent it off for repair, but because the screen is slightly cracked (Something I don't mind about , it doesn't affect the phone) they are refusing to fix it without a huge (£174) charge.
What can I do about this? I don't want them to fix the screen, just the worse issue that it won't turn on!
Do I take Legal Advice?
Do I try and flash a RUU ROM to fix it myself? (I'm technical)
Do I fix the screen myself with one from eBay and try the repair again?
Or something else?!
thanks in advance.

You do understand that the warranty you're relying on to fix the phone has been voided by end user damage caused by yourself?
I'm yet to find a warranty that isn't voided by end user damage.
It's irrelevant whether or not you want them to fix the screen - the fact of the matter is the phone clearly has signs of physical damage and therefore the warranty is void.
You're bound by the terms of the warranty so there is nothing you can do.0 -
Do I take Legal Advice?
>>First read the warranty terms .
But it usual for cracked/ damaged screen to void manufactures warranty as per their T&C.
Do I try and flash a RUU ROM to fix it myself? (I'm technical)
>> If you know what you are doing yes but if you brick it then you will need a new phone .
Do I fix the screen myself with one from eBay and try the repair again?
>>Non legitimate screen repair will be spotted and void warranty .0
