Many fast fits can copy a key, remote and chip and many can "read" a Ford lock to make a key but few, if any, can program a key to the car.

that dealer quote is a joke
    try dealer in next town
remember it would want recovering there ,it seems theres always a suicide jockey on facebook willing to do this on his transit for about 60 notes
alternative is ask your local indi garage how much to fit a lockset and ecu set and speedo head for you from either a breaker or possibly ebay, beware if using ebay for these things you get the complete package as quaranteed working and not off a flood damaged wreck,
alternative sell on ebay spares or repairs no keys must collect

New ignition barrel and door locks. And have an auto electrician bypass the immobiliser. Would still be cheaper than dealer

A good Ford indy will be able to get a key cut to fit the car and get the immobiliser programmed. To give you some idea I would charge about £175 for this for a Mazda (they use the same PATS system). That would be for removing the ignition barrel for a locksmith to make a key for it, a second hand key/fob, key cutting and programming the car.
  • Thank you all so much for your replies. As luck would be on my side I got a phone call from the place that I thought I had left my keys on Saturday and the cleaner had found them!! (Things like this never ever happen to me I am amazed!)

First thing off to get two spares cut I think!! :~)

Second thing is to give that cleaner a gift of cash, flowers, chocolates or wine.

    £600 would seem fair ;)
