Want to ask does Amex credit cards allow students to apply?
Anyone here is a student get their application through?

Student such as masters or PhD, since I think these still counts as students right?

Phds are employed by the university so it should be ok. However they are unlikely to meet the income requirement.
  • Does it take income as household income or self income? Thanks.
Since I'm finish PhD and moving on to job soon, would like to get one for sure as my spending will increase a lot. Hope to grab some good rewards.

On their website it states household income.
To save time before applying for your Platinum Cashback Credit Card, it’s best to make sure you can say yes to the following.

I am aged 18 or over
I have a current UK bank or building society account
I have a permanent UK home address
I have a household income of at least £20,000
I have no history of bad debt

PhD students on stipends are not usually considered to be employees.

Its a fair while ago now (15 years?), but I had an Amex credit card while I did a doctorate. Started with what was a Blue cashback card and after a while they offered me a gold credit card. I cant remember exactly but at the time the Blue card either didn't have an income limit or it was low enough that my stipend met it.
