BT Retentions callback??

Hi,
My BT Infinity contract is up, so I called BT today and told them I was thinking of leaving unless they can give me a better package. The guy on the phone offered me a few discounts but I still wasn't happy with the offer so I enquired about cancelling my contract (thinking they would put me through to a retentions team), but he cancelled my contract there and then and that was that.
They have now started the process of cancelling my contract - what happens now? Will they call me back at some stage and try and offer me a deal to stay with them?
Can I still call BT and say i've changed my mind? If so, how many days do I have to do this? (contract will be cancelled in 30 days).
BTW my current package is BT Infinity 1 Unlimited for £26pm plus line rental.
BT offered me the same package for £21pm and then £15pm but I was comparing this against Virgin Media which was £10pm for the same package (actually faster as its 50mb vs 38mb)

Isn't VM plus £17.99 line rental ?
£10 doesn't get u far with VM. Or bt0 -
Yeah VM is £10 plus £17.99 line rental0
-
So why not go to VM if Bt are not offering what you want?0
-
That is an option, but I would rather stay with BT if they offered me an almost equal deal. Is this likely to happen?0

Try a deal from Sky. Or other open reach supplied service0

The rep will only have cancelled your line if you told him too. He wouldn't have closed it if you had said "Hold on a minute".
BT don't throw customers away unnecessarily."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
