I was in a similar situation a couple of weeks ago when a user emailed me to see if I was having problems with a digital camera I had recently bought as they had the same one. I was a bit suspicious but I replied using the Ebay 'contact user' system. If you use this you can tick a box to have your email address withheld. I used this but I would advise against replying to the email directly from your email account. That is what the contact user is good for.0
