I remember this one, but there was another that presented a visual layout of the offers and was more user friendly...any ideas?0 -

Hi TVPIPE,
The other sites that are regularly recommended on this forum are:
https://www.mobilephonechecker.co.uk
https://www.onecompare.co.uk
I am currently right in the middle of a major site overhaul (it's taking far longer than I hoped it would, but I'm getting there). Given your comments about user-friendliness, it would be useful at this point in time to know how I could make the site more user friendly for you - I'm always open to constructive criticism from my users and now would be a good time to hear your thoughts as I may be able to take your views into consideration while revamping the site.
cheers,

Reestit,
It would be really good to have some measure of how hard it is to claim the cashback for each retailer --- i.e. how many claims (think you already have this), how long you have for each claim, post/fax/etc, and probably some more things that other people can think of...
Without this info you can't really compare like with like, as some retailers give 21 days to claim, some 60 days, etc.

Hi Peter,
I agree with you 100% - most of this info is already available on the old site and I intend to keep it available on the new site. Some other info is currently logged in my database with a view to making it available in the new version of the site.
In the longer term there is also the possibility of designing a standalone t&cs comparison tool as well as an archive facility for requesting copies of old t&cs - but that may have to wait until the new site has bedded in properly...which, of course, in turn requires the new site to be released for public consumption (I'm working on it as we speak).
The biggest problem that I currently face in this area is trying to find a reliable way of keeping abreast of changes in a retailer's t&cs and also dealing with retailers who run multiple sets of t&cs (which is becoming an increasingly common occurrence with major retailers now aping other retailers' terms for their cheapest deals). One thing that I am acutely concerned about is the potential to unwittingly misinform users of the site where t&cs are not updated promptly enough when they change. Following the average cashback retailer's t&cs is difficult enough without the website causing unnecessary confusion by advertising the wrong t&cs. This is further compounded by the fact that some retailers even find it difficult to provide accurate information in this area themselves (you only need to look as far as Phones4U for a recent example of this).
Alas, I don't think that I can expect any retailer to help make this task any easier as my ultimate goal in compiling and cataloging such information (the minimisation of failed cashback claims) is counter to the underlying principle of the average cashback offer.
cheers

Reestit I read your posts with great interest and am grateful for your input. There is a question in my mind though which I hope you dont mind my asking. How can you support those sellers who are still issuing terms and conditions contrary to the voluntary code signed by the networks? And how comes that no one is really picking up on the fact that the networks are not reinforcing their own code?
These questions would be for all of the sites quoted on this thread.0 -
Managed to get there in the end.
It seems a standard affiliates site (if you click through to a retailer, then the site will get commission from any sale).
If there are any offers you fancy, then don't use the website to click through but see if there are any cashback sites (quidco etc), and get the commission
paid out to you.
Edit: Now there is a link to the reason why it can't be shown - but what is the difference between that site being posted here and the Reestit Mutton site (and others) being openly discussed above?0
