Help HSBC Credit Card

Hi,
Hoping someone will be able to help. I made an error this morning and paid £500 from my HSBC current account to my HSBC credit card.
I have spoken to their customer service department and they advised that I am unable to get the money returned and if I want the money returning they will class it as a cash advance.
Is this right?

If it hasn't put your account into a positive balance, then yes.0

Has the £500 put your credit card into a positive balance?
Or did it clear off £500 off your credit card debt?
If it's the first, you could ask them to transfer the balance to your current account - some providers will do this for free.
If it's the latter, then they are correct and it would be classed as an advance and you'd be charged heavy interest until the balance was cleared.

Oh dear, it has cleared part the balance as the rest is on a 0%.
Will make sure I do not do things in a rush
