Ee charging me for emojis / photo message

My bills are £48 alone without "adds on" I don't know why I took my contract with Ee after having been with Orange for years my bills were very affordable .
So recently I notice my bills are never less than £65 so I rang to ask the reason . Ps : I don't have the itemised bills because that is also one of their so called "add obs" £5
When I enquired why my bills are so high they said it was because I send la lit of photo messages . I never do ! I use whatsup for those ...
So today I saw someone's pist on facebook saying that she was charged gor the emojis by EE so I came to the conclusion that is what they meant by "photo message"
I am utterly annoyed as I have no recollection of being told that I would be charged for this .
I would expect to be notified ....
Thought I would let people know in case they like their emojis as me....

It's your phone's fault, not EE's:
Beware texting sad or smiley faces - you could pay £100s
That smile might leave you with a sad face: beware being hit with ...
And it's hard to believe that they charge £5 for itemised bills. Any proof/link? Most likely it's for paper bills only.
Regardless, you don't need a bill to notice that for months you are paying more than you expect.0 -
One would expect to be notified Right ?? I am bot blaming anyone I am simply shocked as to how I haven't thought these emojis would cost so much
No proof I am not here to prove anything ! Just thought it would be nice to share what is happening .
£5 is added to the monhly bills to see the bills online as one off I believe ...0 -
Ps : Yes I don't need a bill to notice I am paying more but yes You would beed a bill to see where the money is going !0

How would you expect to be notified? Millions of people send MMS (picture messages) a day. How's a network supposed to know that's not what you intended to do?0

Just as I was notified last week about their 1.3% rise they can send millions of customers a txt about that surely they can notify people about things that may contribute to extra charge "adds on "0

It is your phone's fault, you have allowed the phone to send the messages as picture messages rather than text messages. Did you read the story in the link grumbler provided?WorriedFTB wrote: »£5 is added to the monhly bills to see the bills online as one off I believe ...WorriedFTB wrote: »Ps : Yes I don't need a bill to notice I am paying more but yes You would beed a bill to see where the money is going !
I can see my bills online and download .pdf versions of them using either the MyEE app or the website. I've never paid £5 to do so.====0 -
