  • Lainey, I am sorry, it is horrible being the new girl isn't it?

Are they all women in the office? I find women can really be horrible sometimes, but usually the men will talk to you. If you are unhappy I think you are best out of it. Enjoy your meal tonight.

Sistercas there won't be many tears then today good luck with your new job.

RR Evie is just beautiful what a lovely expressive face she has

    Good morning.

The rain hammered down in the night, think it was hail as there are little piles of white stuff in the garden. The wind is high again so I may just spend today in the house.

Sorry to hear about work woes, it's awful when the main part of the day is spent being miserable and lonely. I hope all gets resolved.

As for those with new jobs - enjoy the new challenges.

Today I'll need to do a day for my two-day a month job and check my online uni learners, luckily both can be done from my living room.

Candlelight - today is day one so I'm easing myself into it all. SO well done on your test results.

My mum wants a handheld vacuum for her birthday next week. I didn't think she'd manage the one I bought the other week so have ordered the G*ech one which looks easier for her. I'm not convinced she needs one but it's her birthday. I've also got her an old fashioned wind up alarm clock as she can't hear digital ones. As she's already got the great week alarm clock for the deaf, which goes under the pillow and vibrates like an earthquake, I don't know why she wants one! I think she's trying to normalise waking up.

Right, enough waffle. Off to start my day. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

    Hi everyone,

Redruby, Evie looks gorgeous, it's at times like these I would really like another dog but it wouldn't be practical at the moment.

DH has decided to work from home and is thankful he doesn't have to ride his bike in the horrible rain. I have the dentist to get another filling replaced- I'm so much happier about the appearance of my mouth now, before I had so many black fillings showing I hated it. After this one I'll only have a couple left right at the back so I don't know if it's worth having those done. It will be next year before I make that decision anyway.

I finished quilting and put the binding on a patchwork quilt which has been waiting to be finished for several months. I went off it a bit when I'd pieced the top but I'll give it away, either to DS if he wants it or maybe for a charity raffle prize. Someone will like it.

    Have a good day.
  • Morning (((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Its hurling down here too, glad I do not have to go out. OH has to go and get his stirches taken out and also see about his finger. Last week the nurse put some ointment and a plaster on it, the tiny bit of splinter has come out but his finger has gone septic, he needs some antib's to clear it. G came last night and hammered the posts in for the raspberry wire, so now we need to put the wire on.

I need to clean the bathroom and toilet, have a pan on the stove to do leek and lentil soup for lunch, have to put a loaf on and also do the cauliflower and calebrese bake for tonights supper.

We are coming to the end of the coal and wood, so I have the sitting room storage heater on lowish, just light the fire when the SH has lost all its heat.

Coffee at the little chapel tomorrow, we will trot round for half an hour.

    Morning all,

Windy and drizzly here today :( Need to go to the bank in a while.

My weekend didn't go as planned. Me and DH were going to do things together but we had to collect the baby we look after sometimes and so he was here for the weekend. Still fun though :)

Shame about the job Lainey but I agree with Candlelight about women being worse than men. Some women can be so horrible.

Bought some faggots to have for dinner - not had them in years!

    Have a good day all.

Lainey. What a horrible first day for you. I havent had much in the way of work experience i have to say but the women i worked with were a big part of the reason i quit. Well that and family reasons, the women were the final nail in the coffin.

I found if they didnt like you, they didnt like you and no matter how nice you were, nothing would change their opinion of you and God help you if you fill a position that was formerly held by someone they liked (and was sacked). In that case you would never stand a chance.

Talk about feeling like a fish out of water....

Moving swiftly on.... The girls in South Africa are having a 'yard sale'.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Well it started off wet but was sunny this afternoon. I think it may rain again though.

Lainey sorry to hear about the job, good luck with finding something else.

sistercas good luck with your new job.

camelot good luck with your new job.

RR, evie looks so cute and I'm sure bring lots of joy.

This morning, we woke up to no hot water or heating, so after lots of phone calls to the letting agents finally got an engineer out to look at it. I missed him, but he told DS that it needs a very expensive part. So more chasing by me and we are now waiting for the go ahead. I do hope it is fixed soon as its so inconvenient not having hot water or heating. Hopefully the weather will stay relatively mild at the moment.

I have been to work which was fine, there will be lots of changes during the summer break with our kitchen having a major refurbishment, so we are waiting to hear more details in due course.

DS has gone to visit his GF, and DH is still out working, I think he will be late tonight, so its just DD and myself at the moment. Not sure what to make for dinner, I think I will do something easy like sausage or fish and chips.

I must clean the bathrooms and do some tidying up and washing.

I will wish you all a good evening.

Had a good night with Evie again not a peep out of her, she is just starting to show an interest in toys, in particular a soft elephant, thanks to Tru for helping me with the photos last night !
I've just got around to looking at the tail end of yesterday's thread.... Evie is absolutely beautiful! I'm pleased she's starting to be interested in toys; I'm sure she'll settle really well now she's found somewhere she's loved. :o

The dogs need a good grooming. A right scruffy pair they look.
Shame I'm not near you... I find dog-grooming therapeutic, and I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms since Jack went home! :D

Lainey (((HUGS))) If it's any consolation, Mr LW's feeling much the same - they're under so much pressure now where he is, and however much they do it's not enough, and going to work has become a real penance; which is why he made the decision to retire. I hope you can find something better soon.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

It's a mixture but tbh think a lot of the problem lies with my supervisor, it's her first managerial role and she seems to think the best way is to rule with a rod of iron. It's a bit more bearable on a Tuesday which her day off, she also bickers non stop with the financial controller which hardly helps. Anyways, know what I have to do so will square my shoulders and get on with it.
Thanks to everyone for your kind support, much appreciated my dears xx
