We remortgaged ourselves recently and we are now on the market for the exact value quoted in that survey, so I feel we are being realistic..

If it's not selling, you aren't, unless your agent is utterly useless.

Ps seen the pics, looks lovely but i agree the entry is missing bathroom and kitchen photos (there's just one long distance one of the kitchen) and the children's bedroom photo is very cluttered. Which points to a useless agent.

But ultimately it all comes down to price, if it's right by a main road, as you indicate, that would have to be really cheap for me to buy. Indeed I probably wouldn't even be interested at any price. So maybe your best plan is to put it up for rent and also have it up for sale at the same time, so it looks as if you need the time to find the right buyer.

    Good luck.

I get that the listing, and maybe the National park, could make improvements etc difficult for buyers, and that the location on the road is offputting.

But it's a charming property and the rural location is a plus. OK - not an easy sell, but the right buyer will love it.

Is there some other issue? Have surveys thrown up subsidence for example?

Price it right and it'll sell.

Before considering renting as others have said and starting a business as a landlord, read up on what you must do and cannot do, also tenents rights.

For me, the house is not to my taste and think I would be spending money doing it up.

This house in not accurately described. It is described as 4 bed detached house. It isn't a 4 bed detached house it is two semidetached houses that have been knocked through. There are two front doors and two staircases. It isn't everyone who wants to live in a pair of knocked through semis on a main road. As a listed building when did you get planning permission for the roof windows in one of the semis?

The photos make it look as if it needs a lot of money spent on it.

You can buy a much better house in a much more convenient area with local schools close by (this is a family sized house) for the same amount of money. For the same money you can have a purpose built 4 bed house not on a main road.

The OP effectively woke this thread up a couple of days ago when they posted with a related question, essentially the sale of this place, (under somewhat strange circumstances) had fallen through
