Oh for goodness sake. You've left. Move on and keep some dignity.

Yeah, talk about going back with your tail between your legs.Expect a new contract with new duties.

It can work out. I regretted my choice of where I went to rather than regretting leaving, I went back after two months and ended up on slightly more money, (but worse terms, granted) in a better role and now still with the same company on around twice the money two years later.

It all depends on how you are viewed by your old company and if they have the scope to take you back on.

I am in a very similar situation. I had a part time job, 3 days a week, 8.30-4.30.
I'm a single mum and my parents were helping me get my daughter to/from school on those days but it became too much for them.
I found a job same number of hours / pay within school hours so took it. I did one day in the new job and that was enough! Very stressful and my anxiety levels went through the roof! I couldn't go back as my mental health couldn't take it!
My previous employer has got a replacement so can't go back, however they have offered me one day a week work and I'm working for a cleaning agency the rest of the time to make up my hours.
It's really hard to find a part time job that fits in with being a single parent (I'm sure that's nothing new though!)
I also can't understand why so many of the companies I apply to don't interview for 2 or 3 weeks after application deadline...
Anyway, I'm getting a bit desperate now and regret my decision for jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. I feel I am doing all I can to find a job so why is it not happening? :-(
  • Many jobs are not only hard to find but also to keep. My mantra always has been that if you've found a job easily then there is a very good reason - most likely the job is difficult to do, poor terms, too complicated for has bad colleague relations for the money on offer. I would also bet all previous antecedents to the role experienced this also.

Your old job was filled quickly because it was more than likely untaxing compared to the competition.

I wish you well finding a job you can hold down.
