Regretting quitting my job

I've recently left my job (last friday) after working my 4 weeks notice & I am now seriously regretting my decision & I was wondering if it's possible to reverse my decision and return to my previous position?

Only your previous employer can answer. Don't you have anew job to go to?
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

    Ask your employer!

    Good luck.

What made you leave, and would those reasons still be there if you did to back?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • I do have a new job to go to but I feel like I've made a huge mistake by leaving.

Is it as simple as asking them and they either let me straight back or they don't?

Yes it is as simple as asking.

Wether you go back depends on if they have started your replacement and are happy with them. And did you leave on good terms and were they happy with you when you were there.

I've taken people back on when they've realised grass isn't always greener.
  • As mentioned above, put the call in straight away to your previous immediate line manager and explain the situation.

If they haven't spent a penny advertising your post or even filled it internally it's not usually a problem.

List for tomorrow - call your old boss at 9.01am.
  • I spoke to my HR department today and they told me they can't just let me have the same job because I don't have a contract anymore but my manager is happy for me to return. It's a very confusing situation!

    You don't say!

I've no idea how you begin to tell the new employer... bit weird they don't factor in any of this
  • Why would the old employer care about the new employer?

Not confusing at all. You left. That is a break in contract, it's as if you are starting again.

Without knowing anything about the firm or the ins and outs of your job, it's difficult to be specific, but for any number of reasons they may tweak the job whilst it is easy to do.

The fact that they have said they are happy for you to go back is good, go for it and stop trying to overthink!
