Hi all,
Does anyone have any idea if this model is any good please?
It is Sony Bravia KDL65W85
I have been looking for a decent large screen TV for a while and seen some decent ones but this one looks great for price and what it can do.
Has anyone had any experience with this model if so any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

What features do you want?
Will you play games on it?
Also known as the KDL65W850C if you're struggling to find reviews, or even more simply the W850C.
It's not got 4k, but 4k on a screen this size would be 1500+ as of now.
It's reviewed pretty well, but surprisingly for a Sony very weak in terms of input lag... Not very good for gaming, not that TVs this big often are. As usual you'll also need a sound bar or AV amp etc to get good sound, but that's true of all LCDs really.
It's a pretty good set for the money. But it's all relative. The 2015 Android based Sony TVs with or without 4k are an upgrade...Hello There. :beer:0 -
Cheers for replies,
Regards any good for what-it will be a standard tv usage with no need for gaming as not interested.
I have noticed that these larger screens benefit from a sound bar so will also look at these.
I have seen a few at 60" which are also great such as an LG but saw this one so thought it would be good to get some straight forward feedback before buying.
Thanks again for any help.0 -
As long as you are not buying a re-badged supermarket cheapie, modern TVs from all the big manufacturers are fine for general TV viewing. If you are happy with the price you have seen advertised then go ahead and buy!0

The LG and Sony will have the same panel anyway. You're paying for software and style. I personally prefer the look of the Sony sets from this vintage ..Hello There. :beer:0

What size TV do you currently have ? Do you really need to go to 65"?
I mention this because I have been looking at large sets with a view to replacing my existing 51" (which seemed huge when I replaced a 32" !) and I've decided that for my lounge 65" is just too big - made templates out of cardboard to represent the extra areas; it would look ridiculous where I currently have it and nowhere else gives everyone in the room a good view of the screen.:p
I've decided that the largest screen that will fit is 58" -now to convince her indoors!:rotfl:0 -
Brewerdave,
see your point completely and understand your comments. We have a 42" which has been brilliant - the room will support a larger screen and we looked at 55" then 60" screens. But as always with these things you start looking and before you know it you have bought something totally different!!
I saw another one last night-an LG 60" and that looks good also. Once you add sound bars and a new TV stand or cabinet, a few quid mounts up!!!
I'll get there though and thanks everyone for taking the time to respond.0
