Credit card money transfer to help-to-buy ISA

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered, but I can't find anything on the search function.

Would there be anything stopping me transferring (via money transfer) over £1200 from my new MBNA credit card to a newly opened Halifax Help-to-buy ISA, so I am able to open the account with the maximum permitted. The credit card will be in its 0% money transfer period (with a small admin fee)

Many thanks!

  • You may not be able to transfer it directly into the ISA, but so long as you have the necessary credit limit, and it's a standard money-transfer card, then there's nothing to stop you doing a standard money transfer into your bank account then shift that across into the ISA.

I don't see why not, you get the account number and sort code with Halifax once the ISA is open so should be nothing stopping you.
