Sunny Beach, Bulgaria

Hi

Anyone been?

Where did you stay, board basis, excursions, weather etc

I have been googling all day but really appreciate the feedback from here

My 18 year old daughter has been looking at this, possibly staying at the aqua nevis,

Thanks

There was a TV show about it - "What happens in Sunny Beach". I'm sure it will be on youtube, and I think the hotel was mentioned a bit in it.

A bit like the shows "boozed up abroad" etc, was it?

A lot worse. Its just cheap alcohol, easy girls, stupid egotistical boys and copious amounts of sex, drugs and rape. Maybe check it out before you send your 18 year old there, just so you know what's going on. Its not the kind of holiday place you have excursions, unless a naked booze cruise counts.

If she wants a cheap holiday, Laganas on Zante is pretty cheap and less nasty, you can pick up some decent cheapies to a few of the islands (Kavos on Corfu - they did a What happens in Kavos speial as well I think), and Ibiza is pretty cheap in May/September (easyjet flights, cheapie hotel and plenty to do - clubs are expensive though).

    Thanks,

She wont be alone, going with family, I will possibly join them. They hope to stay in a hotel joined to a waterpark, maybe I am being naive thinking tho would be a safer environment, ie more family orientated

Dont think you are being naive

All of what Dom has posted happens everywhere, If you dont want it to happen it can generally be avoided.

I have been to Bulgaria but it was so long ago its not relevant anymore

You will struggle with that in Sunny Beach - its an 18-30s place, not a family holiday destination.

Why not go to somewhere that has the nightlife, but isn't almost solely dedicated to young people? It is not a family resort.

Having sex in the pool, in public, !!!!ed up at 1pm, vomiting, and that's the nice ones.

Sunny beach is dedicated to 18-30s. It is in no way a family place; there are plenty of family resorts, but Sunny Beach is not one of them.

I didn't think the whole of sunny beach was 18-30's, most of the resort was lovely and very family friendly. I would avoid Flower Street though, it is a bit crazy with very drunk 16-21 year olds.
