Spotting a duplicate comp thread and requesting a merge

many thanks to all the dupe spotters

just a polite request, if you spot a dupe and post on it linking to the original, could you then pm a board guide who can merge the two threads, and post that you've done so
alternatively if you'd rather not send a pm, could you just say that ie this is a dupe merge request NOT sent

this stops people second guessing, asking on the thread 'have you sent a merge request?' and BGs possibly getting multiple requests for the same merge

thanks to all the helpful members who do chase up these 'have they/haven't they been requested' merges :T
