I've read him saying you couldn't disassemble it to clean and then the company released a video showing you how to.

    How did you read it?

My friends with kiddies have commented on this on FB, each report no problems. Perhaps because they were cleaning them properly in the first place?

This is NOT a baby bottle, it is a sports style bottle for all ages other than babies, and the girl in question is 7 years old. Buy hey, it's not quite so sensational if you just call it a drinks bottle.

We've had these in the house for years, just pop them in the dishwasher with the twist in the open position, no problem at all with keeping them clean.

I found other types of bottles (designed for toddlers/babies) can also suffer the same problem but only if you don't disassemble them to clean them. I found out this after making the same mistake with a bottle for my what was my toddler at the time. Learnt my lesson and always made sure to clean them properly after that. My child did not get ill though luckily.

Thanks for posting I use this manufacturer's bottle for my son. I have always had concerns that the top could not be dismantled for cleaning so every 4 or months so I replace it (they are cheap when purchased on offer).

The reason I carry on using them is they are fantastic, they are the only bottle I have found that does not leak in his school bag.

Now I know how to clean them properly so no need to replace as regularly, thanks. The way it is shown in the video with someone doing this by hand is not easy, I couldn't manage it ever after softening in boiling water - I used a knife to help. I have just checked his and pleased to say there are no problems, it is clean inside.

Not all of us have dishwasher to clean things more thoroughly :(

With or without a dishwasher you're obviously keeping your lids nice an clean, so it is indeed possible.

Shame the father in this story wasn't quite as thorough before he jumped on the blame wagon.

Might have known the self-righteous brigade would be out in force on this one. But hey, don't let the facts get in the way. I assume you were either unable to actually read the story to the end, or you were so excited at the prospect of posting your criticism on here that you chose to ignore what it said.

We've had one for ages too, no problems, I do have a dishwasher but would imagine a soak in Milton would do the trick. I would say the one in the photo hasn't been cleaned for quite a while.
