  • Candy girl chickpea curry sounds interesting.I seem to have acquired a stash of tinned chick peas in my cupboards just lately as my DD when she sees them reduced in the dented tin bit of Asda's gets them for me ??? I think its because they are reduced to 10p and she thinks Oh mum will do something with them :):):) I used a tin instead of potato's in my HM soup and they were delicious and even after blending a little still left some chunky bits in the soup which I really like Very filling as well. So I am looking for other ways to use some of the chick pea tinned mountain that I have :):):)
Sun is shining and the washing machine is on,so the washing will get a bit of a blow this afternoon (my late mum would be horrified at hanging washing out on a Sunday :):):) But I hang it out no matter what the day as long as it can get a blow
Just going to have a roquefort salad to finish up some of the cheese my brother brought back from france for me :) bless him he knows cheese is my one 'sin' as I don't have a sweet tooth at all.
Hope everyone has a good day what ever they do Gt Nephews rugby team Pangbourne College didn't win yesterday ,they got beaten 28-12 but the experience was good for the lads.
    Cheers chums

Following my Friday post about lamb . Today will be lamb steaks , baby potatoes and veg with lots of parsley butter . I have to earn it by giving the kitchen a good deep clean .
It's cloudy here at the moment and colder than yesterday but I am having to resist the need to wrap up and potter in the garden . Kitchen is calling :(

  • Csarina could you mentally step away from the situation ? After much worry and heart searching I had to in a similar situation a few years ago . It's not easy and goes against our nature but these people are aware of the health situation you and your husband are in and also ruined the grieving process and caused such upset . Take a deep breath and let them do their worst -- nothing you can say or do will be heard ,
nothing will change .Your son would not have wanted you to endanger your health any further and you have enough to deal with as it is .
    Take care

    Me too!! xx

I've been extra busy today to compensate for my day of sleep yesterday! Got the cooled Bolognese frozen in portions, did all the veg for lunch and popped the small joint on to cook on low. Then I cleaned the oven as promised. Got myself ready and Mr TA dropped me in town for 10.00 a.m. Sunday openings. I ventured into my favourite grocery bargain shop and spied bags of parmesan for 75p each. 6 bags now in my freezer! They should last us a while. Then down to B & M to stock up on cleaning supplies and a few more bargains I spotted!

Mr TA picked me back up on his way home again, just in time to get all the veg on, take the beef from the sc and make the gravy. A lovely lunch was then enjoyed by us both!

"Someone" had left the under the sink cupboard in turmoil (surely it wasn't me?!) and I couldn't get all the just purchased cleaning supplies in, so that was to empty, clean out and everything now fits in tidily!

Feet up now with a coffee and will return to my book for a while. Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx

You need to load it to a web based hosting site (like Photobucket) first and then use the link the site gives you. When posting here use the little icon shaped like the mountain (square icon left of the quote one) and paste the link into the box.

Hope this is clear enough - looking forward to see the little one!

    Evening all,

Haven't switched my pc on all day so I'm on my phone. Another very busy weekend but wanted to catch up on your news.

Csarina such a pity all this drama is going on over your sons estate. Money brings out the worst in people. I didn't realize you were still going through it Hester...

Evie sounds delightful RR. I look forward to hearing more about her as we do Scampi.

Bits of news from me but it can wait till tomorrow when I'm on my pc.

The men are in bed. Bags packed for another week working away.

    Sleep well all.

  • Another late posting from me

Went to a fancy dress party last night for a friends birthday, had a great time. Some of the costumes were amazing. Stayed in cheap hotel overnight so a bit of a treat too.

Had a lovely roast dinner today with family so a lovely weekend, but feel tired now as it was a late night.

    Ironing & kitchen cleaned.

JackieO - glad you are having a nice time with your DB.
Redruby - Evie sounds lovely. Can't wait to see pictures.
Csarina-hope things settle down soon for you.

Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.
