Rescheduled flight help

Hi All, can anyone help if it is possible to claim compensation for our flight back from St Lucia. The flight was rescheduled to leave early from St Lucia, upon arrival staff pushed us through passport control to get on the flight, staff at the desk wouldn't let us through as the gate had closed. Subsequently the airline had no option but to put us on a flight the following day with an overnight stay in a hotel. Unfortunately as we where a day late upon arrival we missed our connecting flight to Charles du Gulle, France. Then our train tickets where invalid and we spent the whole day waiting for available seats on the platform, this was at a cost to ourselves. Overall we got home a full two days later missing day's at work.

Airline responsible please as this makes a fundamental difference. Reason for delay is also important as is the date of travel. Suggest you read Vauban's Guide then you will realise the foregoing is required before anyone can meaningfully comment.0

More detail required....It sounds like you were unaware of the reschedule so turned up at the airport too late. How long before the flight was the reschedule made? when were you made aware of it and by whom?
your story could be read a number of different ways
1) booked through an agent, airline notified agent months in advance but they failed to tell you so you turned up at the original time which was too late to make the flight...no compensation due from the airline as reschedule was made with more than 14 days notice, complaint to the travel agent
2) booked direct with airline and rescheduled the day before but no notification received and did not check in online on check booking so were unaware so turned up too late. - possible compensation.
Train tickets are a consequential loss so not the responsibility of the airline...you could try your travel insurance0
