It's all very complicated lol. I do have an Amex card but that is linked to BA to collect Avios so I guess that's a different one, also it's free.0

If you so wish you can convert your Clubcard points into Avios...It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Clubcard:
£8 spent = 1 Clubcard point.
250 clubcard points = 600 Avios
250 point at a spend of £8 per point =
£2,000 spend for 600 Avios
Unless you spend in multiples £8, your spend will need to be quite a bit higher than the figures suggest. I,e, £7.99 spent = 0 Clubcard points and no contribution to Avios.
Amex:
£1 spent = 1 Avios
£600 spent = 600 Avios.
The £1 blocks are much smaller so less "wasted" spend between increments. With this it would be reasonable to assume you'd get 4x or more the Avios with Amex as you would with Tesco.
If you want Avios, use your Amex wherever possible. If you don't actually want Avios, then get their cashback card instead. They do offer a platinum card with no annual fee, but if you're spending over £3.5k per year, you're better off with the fee-paying one.0
