Wedding vendor ignoring my emails. What are my rights?

I'm so annoyed.

I hired a wedding post box for my wedding, The first one back damaged and I let her know immediately. She sent me another the following working day. The terms and conditions stated that when returning the box, the items must be returned in the original packaging which I ensured it did and ensuring it was secured properly.

The box arrived with the vendor and she said it arrived damaged but she will take it up with the courier and she will be refunding my deposit the following day. She asked me for some pictures which I did not have as I did not expect this to happen.

I have been emailing her to find out what is happening with my deposit as she has not put it back when she said she would and she has not been responding. It's been two weeks. I sent her an email yesterday stating that if she does not respond I will be forced to take this further.

Do I actually have any rights here or am I fighting a losing battle?

Send the vendor a LBA letter before action first .

No, we had arranged that she would arrange a courier collect both and she did

Why was the second box returned to the vendor?
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Could it be because the wedding was over, and as the box was only hired, it seemed reasonable to return it?

Exactly.. It was hired, The first was damaged, she sent the second box to the wedding venue as it was the day before the wedding and decided to get both collected on the same day rather than a swap.

So was the second box also damaged? Is that the issue?
    Hence no refund?

If that is the case then I would send a letter before action.

When the first box arrived, i told her the box would not open (hence sending the second box). On receipt, she did not tell me which box was damaged or whether it was the same one I said was faulty.

No she said the box was damaged in transit but she was going to issue me a refund on that day but she did not offer me a refund. She just went silent.

I'll write the letter to send on Monday

Since she arranged both the outward and return courier, any damage in transit is her own problem.
