Lol I only just remembered it's the end of the month damm February's, wasn't focussed on one make just wondered if there were really big discounts to be had given the timing etc
Have you tried the online brokers for the same car?
The likes of https://www.broadspeed.com put you in touch with the UK dealer who will sell at that price.
See how their prices compare to what you're being offered.0 -
umm doesn't make sense to offer more discount on a new car over a pre reg one..trying to work out why they would do that, even approaching target time it would be better for them to clear old stock and order new.
We were able to buy a brand new Z4 back in 2012, with the latest engine and to the spec we wanted for less than the same dealer was able to sell us his pre-reg / demo car that was late 2011 for.0 -

I bought my Focus Mk 3 in summer 2011 (they came out in March or so). My plan had been to buy a pre-reg or ex-demo Focus Mk 2 with a big discount as it was an outgoing model but actually there weren't that many about. I bought the Mk 3 in a "summer sale" with a big wodge of contribution from the dealer and 2 years of 0% finance. I actually had the cash from a windfall but by taking the finance I could leave it in an interest-bearing account and pay off the finance a week before any interest payments kicked in. Result, newer car and better spec and made a few hundred in interest.
I can't guarantee you'll find the same combination of deals - but doing the research with brokers etc. is a good start. It did help that I'm in London so can get to different dealers without too much hassle.I need to think of something new here...0 -
I just brought a pre reg March 2016 Nissan Note 1.2 Acenta Premium for £9995. Price of new was £14,615. I'm collecting my car on wednesday. I'm very pleased with the deal as only 4 miles on the clock. The dealer had two to chose from black or granite in colour.0

However you could have got £3,700 off that price anyway with the likes of Broadspeed?

Also, Nissan are offering £2000 deposit contribution if you were to use their finance deals
http://offers.nissan.co.uk/GB/en/car-deals/city-cars/note/offer-3.html
And they're also offering 3 years servicing on a new Note for £199.
Any of the remaining savings - if there are any - will be kicked in the head with the plate change difference on 1st April come resale time.
Sorry - i dont think you got much of a deal there....0 -
Hi Paul, just looked at your broadspeed link and total cost over 11 grand. I paid under 10 grand. Also I didn't want to use finance and pay interest on the top of the car price. Michele0

I think you misunderstand.
One takes the finance, get the extra contribution, then settle the finance early (after a couple of days is good) thereby paying only a few £s interest and keep the incentive.
Sorry - perhaps it's better that you didn't know that - but others need to know.
I also didn't want finance or to pay interest, but for the 1st time in my life I took it and then paid it off.
One must play these finance chappies at their own game these days.0
