sorry, but that is how i understood it and approached it. getting DDs set up on the donor account prior to transfer is the way to do it. as eskbanker says though, worth continuing to push.

i havew new Yorkshire bank.and new santander evryday current accoumt i set 2 direct debt on santander card.can i use it to get £150 yorkshire bounes? or should i wait few months untill my santander account gets old and first direct debt payment gone first???
