( That's not a real website, just a lame attempt at a joke.)

MSE exists to help consumers save money on things they buy. It focusses on the cheapest deals. I thought it might be informative to expose the worst deals out there and maybe trigger people on those deals to do something about it.

I'll start the ball rolling with ...

Vodafone standard pay-as-you-go:
36p per minute for calls to ordinary landline numbers, 03 numbers and mobile numbers.

Virgin Media Landline - £17.99 p/m and you must take another service with them! 17.5p connection charge for each call in the week and 11.35p per minute to standard numbers!

If you have to take their landline for your internet deal, take Talk Unlimited or use mobiles.

Any Vodafone Contract - Get your credit file ruined for free, even if you've followed your contract to the letter.

Three - Superb new plan costing double what you did pay.

But someone who is a dunce at money wasting is surely an expert at saving it?

Is it not 35p at O2 [STRIKE]and, IIRC, at EE[/STRIKE]*?

*30p at EE - almost freerolleyes.gif compared to Voda.

    118 directory services:

    118 212 as an example:

CALLS TO 118 212 COST £2.75 PER CALL PLUS £2.99 PER MINUTE (MINIMUM 1 MINUTE CHARGE), PLUS YOUR PHONE COMPANY'S ACCESS CHARGE.

You really would have to be a dunce to use one of these services

That's not a valid price point in Ofcom's official list of Service Charges.

The correct price is £5.74 per call plus £2.99 per minute (after 60 seconds) plus your phone provider's Access Charge.

Even worse then. Might be worth you contacting them. That was copied and pasted from their website:
