Flip me, they try to let people know they remember where they came from and are proud of good old Bangor but some people are just never happy ey?
You grow up, you dont know how much I earn. I dont care they show pay money for the fact of police time being wasted.0 -
I think it is a bit disingenious to expect Snow Patrol to 'pay for the police'. The police are there to try to avoid trouble, not generated by Snow Patrol, but by the occasional piece of usesless vermin that infests large gatherings ... if that time was 'wasted' then that is ultimately good news (since the vermin obviously did not show up).
The police is a common service used and funded by all to the benefit of all ... should motorists fund the policing of roads (they do), should the bars fund policing at kick out time (they do), should individuals fund policing when they get burgled, mugged, raped (they do). While there was probably a disproportionate level of policing it is likely that the grabing of headlines and additional trade done by local business will ultimately offset this.

Pat on the back all round i think. A great night on which put Bangor in the spotlight. Snow Patrol playing at home. Come back next year i say. It was truely a family event and a party atmosphere. 30000 concert goers spending money here and not causing trouble.
Cant say the same for the second night of Tennants vital. The Killers were great but exiting Ormeau Park was not an experience i would like to repeat that often.
So well done Snow Patrol:T :T :T and the local authourities for making it a night to remember.
If not policing the concert maybe they would have just spent the night CHASING CARS!!!0
