And anyway, the taxpayer may not be footing the bill, according to this.

? Uh!? What kind of stuff?
Surely the police needed to be present with such a large amount of people in one place.
They are present over the 12th, during the fireworks display at Christmas and probably countless other occasions that I cannot think of at the moment. Why would they not have been present on this occasion?

Snow Patrol wanted to play in Bangor so let them pay the polices wages for the time of looking after the place just incase any trouble started.

So if you have an accident and call the Police should you pay the wages?

No because I pay via my taxes, Snow Patrol wanted to do a show let them pay, why should the police have to waste their time looking after the people that went to the show, when everyone else in Bangor needed to be looked after more, after all snow patrol did not pay anything towards the polices wages.

Do the people who went to the show not pay taxes too?

Most of them maybe, but that is not the point. Snow Patrol should pay the police for patroling the area making it safer.
  • and do the band not pay taxes on the money the show earned?(which at a guess i would say is more than you would pay in taxes in a yr) and did they not generate revenue for the local businesses by people paying to go for drinks, dinner etc before or after the show? grow up! Flip me, they try to let people know they remember where they came from and are proud of good old Bangor but some people are just never happy ey?

So what you are saying is Snow Patrol were making the area unsafe by playing there?

I thought there was a very minimal police presence at and around the concert area, it wasnt needed because the majority were well behaved.

I dont understand what you are saying re: 'when everyone else in Bangor needed to be looked after more'???? Most of the people at the concert - WHICH WAS FABULOUS - were from Bangor. There is just no pleasing some people, who like to have something to moan about and try to put a damper on things!!!!

I hope Snow Patrol play next year again and it is as successful and friendly as it was this year. Fantastic for Bangor and the local economy!!
Trying to claim flight delay compensation from British Airways :o

Shame that the police were there to keep things out. Snow Patrol should pay for the police time, not us tax and rates payers.

I thought this was a council organised event, Was it organised by Snow Patrol?
