Afternoon (((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one and 'happy birthday' to the birthday girls and Elona I hope your move goes well and you are soon settled in your new home.
Up at an ungodly hour this morning, off to the hospital with OH. We were told the first appointment could take up to 3 hours, so I put £3 in the machine as we parked. Less than an hour later we were on our way to Aldi to do the shopping. OH has to double his heart medication and see what happens they will see him in 6 months. The car park had £1.75 profit out of me, not happy......at least at the LRI you pay on the way out.
Went on to my quilting friends and we had a lovely time, soup and croutons for lunch followed by apple pie. OH had cream on his.
Decent journey home, brrr its cold, so the fire lit. Thanks to the short visit at the hospital we do not have to go shopping in Grantham on Sunday, so two days being lazy. On the way home we called at the wood merchant and bought the wood for 2 washing line props. We just have to cut the 'v's in the top for the line.0 -
Just catching up before the evening fun starts.
This morning I had a coffee with a friend in town but missed seeing the partner of my deceased friend who called round to see my mum. I'll catch up with him tomorrow on my way north.
Mum wants stuff taken out of her house, she's still a bit fixated about what'll happen after she dies! So, I had two bags of unwanted books to take to a charity shop. One bag is full of the complete series of Rex Stout's 'Nero Wolfe' detective books, probably about 30 of them...I have no idea who'd want them as they're all written in the early 1930s and of their time. There's also another third bag full of her copies of 'Cordon Bleu' magazines from '70s. It's a bit manic st the moment.
I'm sipping wine and eating cake, it's my own self imposed birthday tradition.
Judi - you're quite right about your mum, but you had to reach that point yourself.
Csarina - glad to hear about your OH. Just you to get sorted out then!
More cake I think.0 -
Oh dear, I'm late getting on here today!
Somewhat late Hoppy Birdday wishes to Gers and Lainey. If I can loosen the muscles up we'll go out for a walk, if not it'll have to be ball games in the garden.
For the dogs that like a game in the garden, I bought a cheapie tennis racket (can't use a ball chucker as it needs an overarm action which I can no longer do) and I have a folding chair out on the patio. It works a treat.:o
Jack Spaniel is here for the weekend; he's BIG but an absolute sweetie. He's an English Springer. We had a lovely walk this afternoon, out to the Roman ruins, and met a Border Collie puppy. Jack was so good, and very gentle with the little chap.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening all. Enjoy that cake GERS, if you can't scoff mountains of sweet stuff on your birthday when can you!
My GP visit scored 2 out of 3. My BP was down to normal with the increase in dose and the lovely young doc was very pleased! He was even more pleased when I told him the tablets he had prescribed for IC were working wonders! Just the continuous uti's to fix now! Sadly he seems to think it's something I have to live with but I have to continue on the anti b prophylaxis of one a day for now and see how I go. Although I get much discomfort from each infection I don't get the severe and crippling pain I got when they first clobbered me,
Have a nice evening folks. I have a date with a bottle of Pinot Grigio shortly! A piece of your cake GERS would just go nicely with it! xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Thanks for saying that. I feel really horrible even thinking about it. I wonder if my brother feels that way too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good evening chums have had a terrific day with my lovely brother davey.he is slowing down quite a bit now from when I saw him last and although able to drive, walks with difficulty. He has to have daily injections and tablets for his leukemia but is very upbeat and positive bless him.We went to my late Mums grave and put some flowers there and he said if and when its his turn he wants his ashes in with her.So sad to see someone who was such a live wire like this. But he is a fighter and will not give in.
Happy birthday to those celebrating and judi its just amazing how folk rally round at times and you must be soo proud of your DD and her partner in Africa.what they see we cannot begin to imagine Please pm me the details of their charity, I too would like to make a donation So many babies who are born in such dreadful circumstances.
Love to everyone tonight as I'm feeling a bit 'quiet' myself at the moment

Well I don't know what has happened to this week! It has just flown by with work and home.
DS has his first GF, so when he hasn't been working he has been spending time with her, so I've hardly seen him:rotfl: Its very sweet though and she seems very nice.
DD has her BF round at the moment, she seems quite happy and has been a bit more chatty than she normally is, as she is very distant normally, not sure how to reach out to her, it seems the older they get the harder it can be when they were little they were so cute:rotfl::rotfl:
I have invited both the GF and BF round for dinner on Sunday, as I thought it would be nice for everyone to meet each other as DD and DS are often not around at the same time, so I hope that it goes well, I think I know what I will be cooking so will be shopping tomorrow.
Sorry its turned into a bit of a ramble, have a good evening everyone x.SPC 11 #4450 -
Ruby......you have really got me curious now!
Judi......tell your mum how you feel, even if you think that she wont understand, although it is very difficult to do, she may be waiting for your permission.....I had to tell my mother to let go and she did, it broke my heart but it was an end to her dreadful pain.
Happy birthday Gers and Lainey......cake is always good.
Csarina.....good that OH is ok, look after yourself now
TA......2 out of 3 aint bad, hopefully 3 to come
Hester, slow down.
Tru, hope that your sciatica eases soon.
We had a busy day for us today........took Mossy to the vet to be chipped.........he was so happy to get into the car, but so unhappy when he realised where we were going, he hates the vets with a passion, but he survived and was so glad to get back into the car....he didnt move a muscle in case we brought him back! Then to DD4 with small freezer boxes I had promised her for food for the twins and a cuddle of course. On to credit union to deposit some money which had been sitting in my bank earning nothing. Spotted a new fish shop so treated ourselved to some lovely whiting and herring for dinner....very difficult to get herring so really enjoyed them for dinner.
Our last visit was probably the most important........to vote in our general election, no idea what the outcome will be, not looking forward to all the waffle we will have until all seats are filled......our system here is proportional representation so could be a few days before its all done.
Feeling tired now and need to take Mossy for yet another walk so will wish you all a peaceful night.
