    Morning everyone,

Gers Happy Birthday to my fellow Piscean :bdaycake: hope you enjoy all that cake x

Thanks to everyone for their lovely birthday wishes, feel very blessed to be part of such a lovely little community :j
We are going out to lunch today, we were then going to the cinema to see Dad's Army but my cough is still hanging around so wouldn't be fair to other people. We will find a good film to watch at home instead and open a bottle of something cold and fizzy to have with some treats, lovely.
Jackie hope you are having a lovely time with your brother x
Elona hope all goes well with the move and blessings to you and your new home x

    Hi everyone,

Happy birthday Lainey and Gers. Good luck with the move, Elona

NMLC I haven't tried Aldi's meat but I find Lidl's very good and on the whole their fruit and veg seems to be better than Aldi's.

We came up to Yorkshire yesterday but later than planned because DH disgraced himself the night before. DD took him out to a restaurant she was writing a review for and he got horrendously drunk (probably because we hardly drink alcohol at all). He felt terrible all yesterday morning but felt well enough to stop at the Cow and Calf on Ilkley Moor for a meal on our way up here.

It will be a very quiet day today I think, I feel very tired.

    Have a good day.

Elona, thinking of you in your new home. I hope the move goes ahead smoothly.

Not sure what i'm doing today. I said i wasnt going to go and see Mom until the weekend but last weekend hubby moaned that i'd got all week to see Mom and i go and see her on one of the days he has off. In a way he is right and i am always stressed on a weekend trying to fit everything in so i am debating as to whether to go today.

News about the Baby House but it can wait till later..... I think i had better make my mind up about visiting Mom one way or another.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

Went to see Mom this morning, each time i go i see age has robbed her of one more thing. She is sleeping most of the time now (which i suppose isnt a bad thing in itself) and in periods of wakefulness she wasnt aware that i was there.

I think it would be safe to say she is on tranquilizers, i didnt ask but in the brief periods of wakefulness all she did was wail.

She isnt eating, only those nutrient drinks and is struggling to sip through a straw. I wasnt ready to let her go before but i am now. Of course she could rally round again as she has done before but to see her like this is cruel to herself and us her children.

She's outlived her Mother by 2 years, her Father by 15. My Dad by 36 and my StepFather by 12 years.

The damage she has caused between my brother and myself is irreparable. It gets worse as time goes on....

May Gods will be done in all, is what i say, whatever the outcome.

Moving swiftly on.....i havent heard from the men yet. I have no idea as to when they will be back. The evening meal is prepared and meat cooked and resting.

Despite the sadness the black dog is a milion miles away from me right now, long may he remain at that distance.

News from the Baby House in South Africa. The girls are arranging for a a 'shed' to be built near their property for unwanted babies to be left to be rescued. As is is, they are finding them at the side of roads, in ditches and being sold to grow up as slaves.

  • Thanks Dumpling for starting us off . You sound much brighter today .
I hope things stay positive for you .
Have a good weekend Island Maid . I hope the doctors went well TA he does seem to be on the case . Put your feet up . Tomorrow is another day .
NMLC I understand where you're coming from about lamb . It is my favourite meat but is now a bit of a luxury . I buy from the village butcher the quality is as I remember years ago but at a cost , he can't compete with supermarkets but sometimes actually having meat of trusted quality is worth the price . He is the fourth generation of the family firm so that is good enough for me .
Tru Scampi is such a character . I hope the leg is feeling better .
    RR A mystery ! Have a good trip .
Candy girl Get well soon .
Happy Birthday and many more to come to the birthday girls .
Fourth sunny day in a row here and actually some warmth in the sun . Been loading the washer the make the most of it . Three big loads done so empty basket . Haddock and roast veg later . I hope to get time tomorrow to assess direct debits , I have done a review before the new year for decades and meal planning and household matters all followed a plan . Over the last few years I have cut so many corners due to other demands that I seem to waste time and money .
Have a good weekend all . Get well to the poorlies .
Like every one else Elona is in my thoughts .

Judi - could you please PM me the link to your DD,s charity, I,d like to send it to my daughter - so sad that a shed is needed, I know the charity DD has been working with let,s it be known in the community that they will be at X place at Y time, and babies are always left, sometimes with their very young mum's - heartbreaking - and of course she,s only seeing a tiny window into what your DD and her partner live every day X
