Hi l'm seeking advice, I recently travelled with Ryanair and at the boarding gate was forced to put my bag into the hold as a "free gate bag". What awful advice! If I self-insured then I'd be out hundreds of pounds right now... Insurance is best precisely for the people who "cannot or do not look after their stuff".
