Cheque finally received today - hooray! It is dated the 29.2.16 so for the Shareholder Guide to say cheque should be received BY the 29th was, I think, misleading.

Received my cheque for £1002 this morning. I previously had 258 BG shares worth £2683 on Feb 1st 2016, the last time I checked
I now have 114 RDShell shares worth approx £1739. Am i missing something here how are we any better off with this take over?

    £1,002 + £1,739 = £2,741 which is more than £2,683.

And remember that the BG share value on 1 Feb would have anticipated the buy-out by RDS - without that the value of your BG shares could have been languishing at around the £2,000 mark or even less.

Exactly what I was getting at when I posted the thread. I would far rather have had my £57000 within rather than after 14 days. However it's not all bad. My fraction was worth more than £5. Whoopee!! :j

I got my share notification and a cheque in the post this morning. Disappointed as this the outcome that I really didn't want!
I'd chosen the all shares option, as did about 2 million others apparently so the share offer was scaled back and the value balance paid in cash. Of course, I can use the cash payment to purchase more RDS 'B' shares but the price won't be as favorable as that offered in the 'deal' sadly.

I got my shell shares showing in my HSBC investment account

    No cash or cheque yet

I have fired over a message to them asking when.

Considering what bg shares would have been worth, I'm going to be selling my shell shares on.

Held bg shares since the beginning. Time for a change.

Kerchinng,,the golden goose visited today. Share cet plus cheque.

Am i right in saying the acquisition price for these RDSBs was £14.68?

Does anyone know the final price of the BGs at last close of trade?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

How have you calculated what the value of BG would have been? Just before the news of the Shell bid they were languishing around 812p in March. After the offer they skipped up 40% to 1200p. They then drifted back as the oil price tumbled and therefore the value of the bid fell but presumably the value of BG would have done the same from 812p without the bid. With the bid they were still 30% above 812p price when they closed at1062p on 12 Feb.

You would/could now have 383p + 0.4454 of a RDSB at 1620p, equal to 721p, so total per BG share of 1104p. Sounds a decent position from a share worth just 812p before the oil price tumble.
