Upgrade from PAYG to contract - three mobile

Options
Does anyone have experience using their PAYG history with three mobile (or any other telco's for that matter) as an advantage in applying for a contract?

I have a short credit history (2 credit cards, paid off each month and no other credit enquiries), so I am hoping that perhaps my PAYG sim history (about 5 months) could potentially benefit?

Alternatively who are the mobile companies likely to take someone on with minimal credit history?

Thanks.

I don't see any possible reasons for PAYG history to count - unlike for a sim-only contract history that does count. Start with sim-only, then try upgrading later IF this really makes any financial sense.

That said, IMO, 2 credit cards history has much bigger value than any sim-only contract.

Try Life Mobile afaik they don't do credit checks and its Sim Only Contact.

  • It doesn't count for credit checks (as far as I know) but if you're on Three's PAYG and then go onto a contract (poss just 12 months or longer) they can add 2000 Three-to-Three minutes as an extra benefit - just make sure you ask whoever is serving you as they might forget, since it's fairly new.
